The Goal

Our Goal is to help professionals, artisans, employers and students apply and get matched to jobs in the architecture, engineering & construction (AEC) sector

Defining users

The Aga Jobboard caters to Employers, Professionals, Artisans, Students and Funders. A lack of clear demarcation between this various users will lead to unnecessary complications and long user flows for users of the product

II. Creating Personas

Conducted One on One Interview over the phone with 10 Construction professionals with the sole aim of understanding the challenges they face when posting vacancies on their platforms.

II. Competitive Analysis

A competitive analysis helped assess where the product and design stands in the market, as well understand the strengths and weaknesses of the competition. Finding gaps in the market would help introduce new and helpful features to the user and make for more intuitive and improved user experience

II. Grids & Spacing

A 12 column grid system, has been chosen to adapt to various screen sizes and ratios. Paired with it, a 4 pt system provides a flexible and consistent yet distinct system.

Each grid is 84px wide, along with a gutter of 36 and margins of 56 on both edges

Utilizing the 4pt grid system, and sprinkling in the novel idea of having a spacing system based on the Fibonacci sequence, results in a surprisingly functional and aesthetically pleasing spacing system

It was fun yet quite challenging experience working on this project. Learned a lot about the Job board industry and the importance of user research

I learned the importance of asking appropriate questions to users to get the correct data without getting confused.

I learned that no design is perfect and complete there is always room for improvement.
